GLEN C. SORKNESS
Glen C. Sorkness died Dec. 21, 2004. He was 50.
Sorkness was born July 3, 1954, in Los Angeles and was a graduate
of Burbank High School in 1972.
Sorkness retired from the Burbank Police Department this year
after 31 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalyn Sorkness; son, David;
daughter, Mallory; mother, Ruth Sorkness; brother, Alan;
sister-in-law, Sandy; nieces, Shelby and Erikka.
Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Valley Funeral Home, 2121 W.
Burbank Blvd. Services are at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the
Hills, Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive.
JAMES THOMAS WOODS
James Thomas Woods died Dec. 2, 2004.
Woods graduated from Burbank High School and was a veteran of the
Korean War. He was the former finance director for the city of
Burbank. He was active in the California Society of Municipal Finance
Officers and the Government Finance Officers Assn. Woods also
received a gubernatorial appointment to the state of California
Government Efficiency Team.
Woods was preceded in death by his son, Mark. He is survived by
his wife, Gloria; daughter; son- in-law; daughter-in-law; seven
grandchildren; brother; sister-in- law; four nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tuesday at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van
Buren Blvd., Riverside. Donations can be made in Woods’ memory to
Home Health and Hospice in Murrieta.
