CABRINI LITERARY GUILD HAS FUNDRAISER

The Cabrini Literary Guild will have its annual fundraiser

“Flamenco Ole” today at the Oakmont Country Club in Glendale. The

chairwoman is Marie Urrutia. President of the guild is Carmen

McClelland.

The event begins at 11 a.m. with a social hour and viewing of

auction items. There will be a silent auction including gift baskets,

original oil paintings and more. There will also be a money raffle.

Entertainment will feature the La Sole flamenco dancers.

Proceeds go to support the Burbank public libraries’ literacy

programs and the Glendale YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter for Women

and their Children, which serves Burbank.

HELPING HOMELESS WOMEN IS TOPIC

Janet Lavender will explain how she helps low-income women improve

their employment skills at the March 23 meeting of the Verdugo-Glen

Chapter of the American Business Women’s Assn.

Networking is at 6 p.m., followed by dinner, program and business

meeting at 6:30. The group meets at the Elks Club, at 120 E. Colorado

Blvd., Glendale. Cost of the dinner is $17. For reservations, call

AUTISM GROUP HAS FAMILY RESOURCE MEETING

The Foothill Autism Alliance, Inc., will have its Family Resource

Meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Pasadena Child Development

Associates, 620 N. Lake Ave., second floor, Pasadena.

A panel presentation of adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder will

be featured. The topic will be “Life on the Spectrum.”

Based in Glendale, the alliance works to provide information and

CIVIC PRIDE COMMITTEE PLANS PLANT-A-TREE EVENT

The Burbank Civic Pride Committee welcomes residents,

organizations and businesses to participate in the Burbank’s 50th

annual Plant-a-Tree Month through March.

Contributions received from all donors will be pooled together and

used by the Park, Recreation and Community Services Department

throughout the next year to purchase and plant trees in Burbank

parks.

Certificates will be awarded at the Plant-a-Tree donor awards

ceremony at 2 p.m. March 23 at McCambridge Park, 1515 N. Glenoaks Blvd. Donations must be made by March 18 to be listed in the program.

To make a contribution, make checks payable to the city of Burbank

and mail to Plant-a-Tree Program, c/o Burbank Civic Pride Committee,

City Hall, 275 E. Olive Ave., Burbank, 91502.
