Sticking the landing

Burbank Leader

Golden State Gymnastics, the award-wining center in the 1800 block of North Keystone Street, hosted its grand reopening Saturday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a “flip festival” featuring gymnastics students and instructors.

The nonprofit gym promotes physical fitness and community service.

The reopening comes after Olympic gold medalist and “Dancing With the Stars” finalist Shawn Johnson visited the gym last year to field questions from adoring athletes on everything from her Olympic experiences, to her training, to nutrition and workout methods.

In September, Golden State opened its doors to the community to celebrate National Gymnastics Day.
