Area 1: 1000 block of West Burbank Boulevard

At 5:45 p.m. on March 2, Manuel Alvarado was arrested for allegedly attempting to steal a $13,000 diamond bracelet from Costco. While Alvarado was viewing the bracelet, he allegedly looked at the employee and told him, “You know what? I’m just going to run out with it now.” He turned to run out of the store, but tripped and fell. He was detained by the employee and security officers until he was booked on grand theft and burglary charges.

Area 2

1800 block of Jackson Street

At 10 a.m. on March 3, a man entered a home through an unlocked door but the resident inside grabbed a kitchen knife and ran after the suspect. The intruder jumped into the passenger seat of a gray, older model four-door vehicle, possibly a Volkswagon hatchback.

The man, described as white, between 35 and 38 years old, between 5-feet 10-inches and 6 feet tall, with a thin build, clean-shaven face and short dark hair, and was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt with a hood, light blue jeans and tennis shoes. The female driver of the vehicle had orange or red curly hair and was last seen driving eastbound on Church Street.

200 block of East Orange Grove Avenue

Between 7 p.m. on March 4 and 1 a.m. on March 5, the third-row seats from a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe were stolen while parked in the Orange Grove structure. The driver’s-side door lock was punched out.

Between 2:05 and 3 p.m. on March 6, two bicycles and an iPod were taken from a 2003 Chevrolet Astro van while parked in the Orange Grove structure. There were no signs of forced entry.

600 block of North San Fernando Boulevard

Between 11:45 a.m. and 1:20 p.m. on March 5, a GPS, purse and cash were taken from a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban while parked in the IKEA structure. The lock on the front passenger door was punched out.

900 East Valencia Avenue

Between 4:50 p.m. and 11:05 p.m. on March 5, a residential burglary occurred. Jewelry was taken from the home and no suspects were seen.
