Police department headquarters get $10M upgrade

Burbank officials celebrated the grand re-opening of the city’s police department headquarters Tuesday after years spent repairing shoddy construction.

Spot repairs began on the building in 2000, two years after it was built, due to water damage.

The repairs would lead to extensive reconstruction and two phases of work, which was recently completed to the tune of nearly $10 million.

In late February, police were able to use the jail again, eliminating the need to drive to Glendale to book suspects at the jail facility there.
