Burbank man crushed to death by gravel truck

A Burbank man was crushed to death Monday by the remote doors of a gravel truck, police said.

The accident occurred in an empty lot just west of Front Street between Burbank and Magnolia boulevards near the Golden State (5) Freeway.

The man, 58-year-old Vigen Boodaghian, became trapped shortly before 10 a.m. and was extricated by a truck driver before emergency responders arrived, according to police. He was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

It was unclear how Boodaghian became trapped, Sgt. Carlos Gomez said, pending an investigation.
