Big rig crash: Lanes remain closed on I-5 in Burbank for clean-up

An overturned big rig has blocked seeral lanes of the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway near Scott Road as crews work to clean up hundreds of gallons of spilled fuel, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A Sigalert has been issued, with at least two lanes have been closed, backing traffic up to the Ventura (134) Freeway.

[Updated 10:45 a.m.: Three lanes of the northbound I-5 are expected to remain blocked for roughly three more hours as crews clean up an estimated 1,000 gallons of fuel spilled from the overturned big rig. The Sigalert remains in effect.]

The driver of the big rig was reportedly able to exit the vehicle by the time emergency crews arrived. No other vehicles appeared to be involved in the incident, which was reported at about 6:50 a.m.
