San Fernando Valley roundup: Good Samaritans’ families to get bills, Plane crashes in Pacoima

Good morning, readers. Today is Sunday, August 26 — the last weekend before Labor Day. Summer is slowly winding down.

A good deed doesn’t go unpunished in Los Angeles. The families of the two good Samaritans electrocuted Wednesday in Valley Village will get bills from the fire department, reports City News Service. “We can’t decide who’s innocent, who gets a bill and who doesn’t,” spokesman Brian Humphrey told CNS.

The driver who caused the Valley Village accident is from Glendale. His sister said he told her to bring flowers to the site and that he blames himself. Glendale News-Press

A small plane crashed between two buildings on Saturday, but miraculously, two people walked away from the accident, according to the Daily News. They were hospitalized but their conditions are currently unknown.

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority axed seven options to connect the 710 Freeway with other highways, but a possible tunnel remains a main point of contention. Valley Sun
