Those who plan to seek public office in Burbank can now officially pull their papers for the Feb. 26 primary election on Monday, the city clerk’s office announced this week.

Up for grabs in the 2013 municipal election season are three seats on the City Council. Interim city clerk and treasurer appointments will also have to fight to retain their posts. Two seats on the board of education will also be up for election, one of which was also filled with an interim appointment this year.

The general election will be held on April 9 and conducted by mail ballot.

Candidates for elective office must be a U.S. citizen; at least 18 years old; a Burbank resident for at least 29 days prior to filing nomination papers; and a registered voter in Burbank at the time of nomination.

Nomination papers may be picked up at the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 275 East Olive Ave., between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The deadline for filing is 5 p.m. Nov. 30, according to the city clerk’s office.
