Missing Burbank woman turns up at recreation center

Burbank police have located a 78-year-old woman with a history of dementia and paranoia who was reported missing this week.

Mary Yacoubian was found at the Joslyn Adult Center in Burbank on Friday just before noon, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

“She showed up there today,” Ryburn said, adding that it was not immediately known how she got there or what she had been doing since going missing on Jan. 13.

Yacoubian was not injured, but was transported to a hospital for evaluation.

She was last seen on Jan. 13 leaving the Burbank Extended Stay Apartments – located at 2611 W. Olive Ave. – where she lives alone, Ryburn said.

“She has not been back there since she was reported missing,” Ryburn said.
