Burbank police are investigating a series of burglaries in which nearly $17,000 worth of property and cash were stolen from four parked cars between Thursday and Sunday.

Thieves broke into a Honda in the 200 block of East Palm Avenue between 10:40 and 11:30 a.m. Thursday and stole a wallet, cell phone and cash, said Burbank Police Lt. Eddie Ruiz.

On Friday between 8:50 and 10:25 a.m., the window of a Porsche was smashed to steal a purse and cash -- together worth reported $12,000, according to police reports.

The Porsche was parked at a 24 Hour Fitness in the 1900 block of Empire Avenue.

That evening between 5:40 and 6 p.m., burglars smashed the window of a Honda – which was parked in the 4300 block of West Victory Boulevard – and reportedly stole a computer and its accessories.

Two days later, a purse, cell phone and checks were reportedly stolen from another Honda in the 1000 block of East Santa Anita Avenue, Ruiz said. Between 2:05 and 2:25 p.m., burglars entered the car through a partially opened passenger window, according to the police report.

Anyone with information on the thefts is urged to call Burbank police at (818) 238-3210.
