Late night brush fire is quickly knocked down in Burbank
Emergency crews knocked down a “slow-moving” half-acre brush fire above the Castaway Restaurant in Burbank just after midnight Tuesday, authorities said.
At 12:18 a.m., 20 firefighters were dispatched to Wildwood Canyon Road where the fire was reported just above the hillside restaurant, said Burbank Fire Capt. Peter Hendrickson.
By 1:05 a.m., crews had knocked down the fire.
Firefighters cleared the scene just after 2 a.m., though one engine remained at the scene to keep watch hot spots or potential flare ups.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
