A 38-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly threatening his neighbor by holding a lighter to his face, police said.

The neighbor, a 53-year-old man, was smoking in the common area of his apartment complex when Rayan Raghuram allegedly threatened to hurt him, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

According to police, Raghuram reportedly told the victim: “Revenge, revenge, revenge, I know when you’re going to die.”

Then Raghuram allegedly placed the lighter 8 inches away from the victim’s face, Ryburn said.

The pair had reportedly been arguing for about a month, though it was not immediately known what they were fighting over, Ryburn said.
