A 62-year-old pedestrian was hospitalized when she was struck by a sedan Thursday after the driver lost control of the car, police said.

At 7:30 a.m., the 22-year-old motorist was reportedly speeding eastbound on Alameda Avenue approaching Chavez Street when he lost control of the car and slammed into two parked cars, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

The impact caused the vehicle to spin and hit the pedestrian crossing the street, he added. The woman was transported to a hospital with a possible broken leg, Ryburn said.

Police reported no evidence that drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision. No other injuries were reported.
