The Burbank Neighborhood Leadership program is seeking applicants for its five-month class in which participants will get to know the ins and outs of local nonprofits, businesses and city departments.

Participants will be expected to attend 10 Saturday sessions, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., starting Jan. 11.

The program includes a community project, planned and executed by the class, officials said.

In the past, a class designed and funded improvements for the student lounge at the Burbank Adult School, according to recreation coordinator Paul Paolone.

The deadline to apply for the free program is Oct. 25. Applications are available at the city’s recreation centers and libraries.

For more information, call Paolone at (818) 238-5435.
