Schiff’s constituents benefit from vote

Thomas Walls claims that no one in Rep. Adam Schiff’s district benefits from the Congressman’s vote to increase the federal debt limit (“No more support for Schiff,” Aug. 5).

Well, I am in his district and I disagree with Walls. By voting to raise the debt limit of the federal government, Schiff has helped to ensure that all holders of federal government bonds will continue to receive their interest payments as promised by the federal government.

It would damage the reputation and standing of the United States were our country to default on its debts.

I doubt that Walls speaks for many of Schiff’s constituents since the congressman was reelected by an overwhelming majority of the voters in his district.
