BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Providence 61, Chadwick 34: The Pioneers, the defending Prep Leagyue champions, remained undefeated in league with the win Friday on the road.

Providence is 16-5, 4-0 in league.

Crescenta Valley 67, Burroughs 40: The Indians (13-6, 4-4 in league) couldn’t match the Falcons in suffering the Pacific League loss Friday at Providence High.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Providence 50, Chadwick 31: Audrey Sayoc poured in 18 points to go along with six assists, five steals and five rebounds for the Pioneers on Friday in a Prep League road game.

Ava Tibbs added 13 points and 14 rebounds and Haley Laca contributed eight rebounds for Providence (13-7, 3-2 in league).

Burroughs 59, Crescenta Valley 46: Faith Boulanger had 23 rebounds, 15 points and eight blocks to pace the Indians to a Pacific League win Friday at Providence High.

Kayla Wrobel added 18 points and seven rebounds and Dyani Del Castillo had 11 points for Burroughs (16-5, 7-1 in league).

Glendale 41, Burbank 32: The Bulldogs absorbed the Pacific League loss Friday at home.

Burbank falls to 8-12, 2-6 in league.

Providence 53, Mayfield 29: Ava Tibbs had 16 points and seven rebounds to pace the host Pioneers to a Prep League win Thursday.

Audrey Sayoc added nine points, five assists and seven steals and Haley Laca had eight rebounds for Providence.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Burbank in Nogales Tournament: The Bulldogs (8-5) earned wins against Colony, 10-3, and Santa Fe, 7-6, in the first two rounds of the event Friday.

Burbank 12, Glendale 11: The Bulldogs held on for a Pacific League victory Thursday on the road.

Burbank, which received five goals from Julie Kim, improves to 2-1 in league.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Crescenta Valley 8, Burroughs 1: The defending Pacific League champion Indians came out on the losing end of Friday’s match on the road.

Burroughs is 9-4-2, 5-2-1 in league.

Glendale 9, Burbank 0: The Bulldogs were shut out in their Pacific League contest Friday at home.

Burbank is 1-4-3 in league

Providence 0, Pasadena Poly 0: The Pioneers played to a Prep League stalemate Thursday on the road.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Burroughs 1, Crescenta Valley 1: The Indians played to a Pacific League draw Friday at Memorial Field.

The Indians (7-6-3, 5-1-2 in league) received a goal from Manny Gonzalez, giving him 53 career goals, two shy of tying the Burroughs record of 55 set by Roberto Perez in 1994.

Flintridge Prep 5, Providence 3: The Pioneers couldn’t hold a late lead in dropping the game Friday to the defending Prep League champs in the league opener for both teams at the Glendale Sports Complex.

It was the Pioneers’ first loss of the season.

Providence had a 3-2 advantage early in the second half before surrendering the final three unanswered goals.

Shant Avedikian, Bryan Ortiz and James Manikyan scored for the Pioneers (8-1-3, 0-1 in league).

Glendale 3, Burbank 0: The Bulldogs slipped to 1-9, 1-7 in the Pacific League with the loss Friday at home.
