Sports Roundup: Burroughs girls’ soccer earns key league win against Crescenta Valley

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Burroughs 1, Crescenta Valley 0: The Indians vaulted into a tie for first place in the Pacific League with the victory Tuesday at Memorial Field.

Lauryn Bailey scored the lone goal for Burroughs (12-3-2, 9-1-1 in league) early in the first half off a combination of passes from Lily Gonzalez and Abbie Riggs. Goalkeeper Kaylin Casper posted the shutout.

Glendale 3, Burbank 1: The Bulldogs received a goal from Maddie Chase in the Pacific League match Tuesday at home.

Burbank is 3-13, 3-8 in league.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Burbank 64, Glendale 57: Miles_Dagostin had 24 points in leading the visiting Bulldogs to a Pacific League win Tuesday.

Erik Harutyunyan added 13 points for Burbank, which improved to 15-9, 6-5 in league.

Crescenta Valley 70, Burroughs 44: The Indians suffered the Pacific League loss Tuesday on the road.

Burroughs fell to 11-13, 4-7 in league.

Crossroads 73, Burbank 64: Miles D’Agostin had 27 points for the Bulldogs on Monday in a Martin Luther King Day Showdown game at Burbank High.

Nicole Runfola and Ariana Frias had eight points apiece for Burroughs (18-7, 7-4 in league).

Glendale 46, Burbank 40: The Bulldogs slipped to 13-1, 5-6 in the Pacific League with the loss Tuesday at home.

Sofia Aslanya led the Bulldogs with 19 points.

Crescenta Valley 2, Burroughs 0: The Indians gave up a penalty shot in the first half and a goal in the 80th minute in absorbing their first Pacific League loss of the season Tuesday on the road.

Burroughs (12-4-3, 8-1-1 in league) missed a penalty shot of its own in the second half.

Glendale 3, Burbank 0: The Bulldogs slipped to 3-8-2, 2-7-2 in league with the Pacific League loss Tuesday on the road.
