BOYS’ CROSS-COUNTRY

Providence at Mt. San Antonio College Invitational: It was a strong effort from the Pioneers, who cracked the top 10 in the Division V green race Friday afternoon.

Providence was exactly 10th in earning 266 points with a team time of 1 hour, 41 minutes and eight seconds.

Sophomore Lalo Fisher led the way by taking 40th in 19:09, just a little ahead of teammate Taylor Rodriguez (43rd, 19:12).

GIRLS’ CROSS-COUNTRY

Providence at Mt. San Antonio College Invitational: In a field with 23 team participants, the Pioneers finished 16th overall in the Division V blue race Friday afternoon.

Providence turned in a team time of 2 hours, 7 minutes and 52 seconds that translated into 373 points, which gave the Pioneers a slight advantage over 17th-place Mesa Grande Academy (385, 2:06:38).

Drew Tacchino was one of two Pioneers to break into the top 50, as the junior clinched 25th in 22:49. Pioneer sophomore Rose Avakian raced to 50th in 23:58.
