Gonzalez remains red hot


Providence 85, Glendale Adventist Academy 54: Patrick Gonzalez continued his fine season Thursday by pouring in 43 points— including eight three-pointers — to spark the Pioneers to a Liberty League road win.

Gonzalez came into the game averaging 36.6 points a game.

Providence (9-7, 2-2 in league) held a 47-22 lead at the half, paced by Gonzalez’s 31 points in the first two quarters.


Tyler Kidd added 19 points for the Pioneers

Providence 85, Oakwood 78: Providence’s Patrick Gonzalez scored 49 points and had 17 redounds in leading the Pioneers to a Liberty League win Tuesday on the road.

Teammate Tyler Kidd added 22 points.



Providence 58, Glendale Adventist Academy 28: The Pioneers outscored the Cougars, 23-4, in the third quarter Thursday en rout to a Liberty League win on the road.

Rita Khatchadourian had a big game for Providence (14-5, 3-0), scoring 27 points to go along with five rebounds.

Providence 33, Holy Martyrs 17: The Pioneers had a solid defensive effort in the second half in winning the Liberty League game Jan. 7 at home.

With the Pioneers holding a 9-7 lead at the half, Providence outscored the Armens, 16-4, in the third quarter to take control of the game.

Catherine Saint had 14 point and five steals and Rita Khatchadourian added 11 points in the winning effort.

Muir 44, Burroughs 35: The Indians couldn’t come up with a win against the defending Pacific League champions Monday in a game at Muir.

Lisha Elsenbach had 12 points and seven rebounds for Burroughs. Teammate Cchelsea Rhamdeow added 10 points and nine rebounds and Justice Shank contributed six points, seven rebounds and five steals.
