GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Burroughs 14, Arcadia 4: The Indians finished the Pacific League regular season in second place with a win Wednesday at Arcadia.

Burroughs (17-3, 5-1) — ranked No. 7 in CIF Southern Section Division V — will play No. 3 Pasadena (3-3 in league) at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the semifinals of the Pacific League Tournament at Burbank High.

Against Arcadia (1-5 in league), Sam Buliavac scored six goals, Savannah Simmons added four goals and Cheyenne Morrison had four assists to pace Burroughs. Goalkeeper Ahsha Earwood had 14 saves and four steals.

Burbank 15, Hoover 1: With the win Wednesday on the road, the Bulldogs (2-4) finished fifth in the Pacific League regular season.

Burbank will take on No. 6 Arcadia at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Pacific League Tournament at home.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Bellarmine-Jefferson 76, St. Mary’s Academy 22: The Guards continued steaming toward a Santa Cruz League championship with a win Thursday on the road.

It was a big lead that helped propel Bell-Jeff (18-6, 6-0) — ranked No. 7 in CIF Southern Section Division IV-AA — as it jumped out to a 27-0 advantage after the first quarter.

Tiffany Kho stepped up for the Guards, scoring 15 points while teammate Rishonda Napier added 14. In addition, Jasmine Smith and Averie Guzman added 12 points each, Kiah Jones had 11 and Marilynn Flynn had 10.

Burbank 55, Hoover 32: The Bulldogs remained in second place in the Pacific League with a victory Friday on the road.

Damarie Gonzalez scored 12 points, Jamie Gonzalez added 10 and Aja Locke had nine for Burbank (15-10, 9-3).

Providence 51, Glendale Adventist Academy 20: The Pioneers clinched at least a share of the Liberty League championship with an easy win Wednesday at home.

Providence — tied for third in CIF Southern Section Division IV-AA — jumped out to a 12-1 lead after one quarter and had 31-7 advantage at the half.

Bea Benedicto stepped up for Providence, scoring 20 points. Janel Adraneda added eight points and four steals and Catherine Saint and Katia Dabbaghian had seven points each.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Providence 92, Glendale Adventist Academy 33: The Pioneers remained in first place in the Liberty League with a victory Wednesday at home.

Marcus LoVett Jr. scored 32 points and Patrick Gonzalez added 29 for Providence (21-4, 8-0).

BOYS’ SOCCER

Burroughs 1, Arcadia 1: The Indians (7-8-4, 6-3-3) stayed in second place in the Pacific League with the stalemate Friday at Arcadia.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Arcadia 3, Burroughs 1: Bailey Simmons scored the lone goal for the Indians on Friday in a Pacific League match at Luther Burbank Middle School.
