Burbank basketball pulls out league win in overtime

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Burbank 55, Glendale 53 (OT): The Bulldogs battled back from a 13-point deficit in the third quarter to force overtime and eventually win Monday’s Pacific League game at Burbank.

Richard Elmoyan had 19 points and Andy Zanikyan added 14 for Burbank (10-8, 2-3 in league).

Muir 79, Burroughs 35: Missing key players because of injuries, the Indians (11-6, 1-4) dropped their third straight Pacific League contest Monday with a loss at home.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Burroughs 72, Muir 38: The Indians remained undefeated and in first place in the Pacific League after earning a win Monday on the road.

Sidney Ortega led the way for the Indians (16-2, 5-0), scoring 23 points. Teammate Aysia Shellmire added 15 points, 11 rebounds, six blocks and four steals, Bailey Trotta had 13 points and Davina Del Castillo contributed 11 rebounds.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Burroughs 3, Muir 0: Manny Celio scored two goals to lead Burroughs to a Pacific League win Monday.

Goalkeeper Elliot Whitecotton made five saves for the shutout.

Burroughs moves to 3-2 in league and remains in third place in league.

Glendale 5, Burbank 0: The Bulldogs slipped to 1-3-1 in the Pacific League with a loss Monday at home.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Burroughs 14, Muir 0: The Indians (7-10-1, 4-1) had an easy time recording the Pacific League win Monday on the road.
