Sports Roundup: Burroughs High softball rolls to easy Pacific League home win

Burroughs 22, Muir 0 (five innings): The Indians banged out 17 hits en route to the easy Pacific League win Thursday at Olive Park.

Naelyse Garcia and Cheyenne Steward combined for the one-hitter. Both also had big days offensively, as Garcia had three hits, three runs and a run batted in, while Steward had two hits, three RBI and three runs.

Jessica Little had four RBI, two runs and two hits, Kaitlin Okimoto had three RBI, three runs and two hits and Aimee Rodriguez had three RBI, two hits and a run.

BOYS’ TRACK AND FIELD
Burbank 115, Glendale 21: The host Bulldogs notched a Pacific League victory Wednesday. Burbank (6-0, 5-0 in league) received two first-place finishes each from Chris Roe in the 400-meter race (51.47 seconds) and the 200 (22.93) and Andy Hurtado in the shot put (43 feet 3 1/2 inches) and discus (162-9).

GIRLS’ TRACK AND FIELD
Burbank 109, Glendale 27: The Bulldogs earned a Pacific League home victory Wednesday to improve to 4-2, 3-2 in league.

Burbank received two individual first-place efforts from Kira Bochard in the 400-meter race (61.98 seconds) and 300 hurdles (49.11), Taryn Stevenson in the 1,600 (5:52) and 3200 (12:19), Julia Newton in the 100 (12.52) and pole vault (9 feet) and Elizabeth Sanchez in the high jump (4-10) and triple jump (30-1).
