‘Summertime at the Cove’

A plein art show and sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Education Commons in the Historic District of Crystal Cove State Park. About 30 artists will have their work on display and ready to sell. Proceeds will go to the Crystal Cove Alliance. Documentary Screening at Church

A free screening of the documentary “GasLand” will be at noon at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Laguna Beach, 429 Cypress St. The film discusses the dangers of releasing natural gas in our environment.

Workshop And Book Signing

Laguna Art Museum hosts a children’s art workshop and book signing with Christy Hale, author of “The East-West House: Noguchi’s Childhood in Japan.” The event aims to teach children about the life of artist Isamu Noguchi and includes a landscape collage art project. Wine Delights

Taste some new wines and learn the secrets of pairing wines with food at a class from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Susi Q Senior Center. Light snacks will be paired with the wine. This class is sponsored by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and costs $20. Reservations are required.

Baby And Me Hike

A hike for expectant mothers or anyone carrying a baby in a pack, sling or backpack begins at 9 a.m. It will be a brisk, 2-mile hike with some fairly steep terrain. Parents and kids should bring water, a hat, sunscreen and a snack. The trails not accessible for strollers. Meet at Aliso & Wood Canyons
