Laguna Beach artist Jorg Dubin, who created the “Semper Memento” sculpture at Heisler Park to honor the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, attends Monday’s City Council candidates forum as “Comrade Jorg Dubin.” He is running as a write-in candidate in the November election to make the point that Laguna Beach, widely known as an art colony, does not have an artist on the council. As a write-in candidate, he could not participate in the forum.
