David August to debut new shirt line

Share

David August, the Costa Mesa-based maker of men’s custom suits, will debut a new line of shirts, Koi by David August, in October, according to an article in ApparelNews.net.

The company headed by David August Heil, a veteran tailor who has made custom suits for stars and celebrities, ranging from Sylvester Stallone to Robert Downey Jr. and former USC Trojan football head coach Pete Carroll, will be offering Koi shirting, made in Italy, with retail prices ranging from $220 to $495, the website reported.

However, for the line’s debut, retail and wholesale are not part of the business plan. Instead, a group of Heil representatives will visit clients at their homes or offices to take their measurements for Koi shirts. Measurements can also be taken at Heil’s studio in Costa Mesa, at 3140 Airway Ave.
