ROBERT BERNARD BROGGER
Robert Bernard Brogger, best known as Bob, passed away at his Newport Beach home on Tuesday, April 9th at 11:51pm. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 Esophageal cancer in November of 2012 and fought well and hard throughout the subsequent 4 months, but the cancer had spread too rapidly. Brogger lead an amazing life, establishing himself as a Newport Beach fixture by serving voluntarily at Mariners Church since its inception in 1965. After years of working as a Public Relations manager for several companies and then his own “The Brogger Group”, he eventually became the Pastor of Assimilations at Mariners in 2002, a position he cherished and thrived at until his final days. He is survived by his wife of 45+ years, Yoli Brogger, as well as his two children, Clarke, age 41 and raising a family in north Orange County, and Joy, age 39 raising her family in North San Diego County. Over the last few days before he passed, hundreds of friends, co-workers, and family members visited him to pay their respects. Brogger’s influence will be felt for years to come. His memorial service will take place at Mariners Church in Irvine on April 29th at 12:00.
