Families, faculty and other interested parties are invited to voice their opinions Wednesday about what’s needed in a new principal at Corona del Mar High School.

The Newport-Mesa Unified School District is looking for a new top administrator after Tim Bryan resigned to take a position as chancellor at a Mission Viejo school.

Newport-Mesa will host a community input meeting about the hiring process from 6 to 7 p.m. in the CdM library.

In past input meetings at other high schools, district officials have asked attendees about challenges facing the campus, school strengths and qualities community members want in a new principal.

The district hopes to fill the job by the beginning of the school year.

The school also has an opening for an assistant principal. Duncan McCulloch, who held that position, has accepted a job as principal of Segerstrom High School in Santa Ana.
