Boys & Girls Club open for fun

Five families signed up their children for programs at the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach during the organization's open house Wednesday night, development and marketing assistant Monica Silva wrote in an email.

"Last night was a huge success," Silva said. "We served over 200 pasta meals."

The open house, the first at the club's main branch on Laguna Canyon Road, was an opportunity for parents to participate in activities with their children, education and technology director Patricia Walker wrote in an email.

Activities included relay races, a scavenger hunt, tye-dying and a dress-up photo booth, Walker said.
