COSTA MESA — KaUwila Lavea had 21 kills to help the No. 21-ranked Lions to the 25-23, 25-22, 16-25, 25-14 Golden State Athletic Conference win Tuesday.
Jamie Heenan had 11 kills and six digs, while Lisa Morgan led Vanguard (16-8, 5-4 in conference) with 15 digs.
The Master’s is 15-9, 3-6.

Price’s ‘Give ‘Em Five’ Intercollegiate
Las Cruces, NM — UC Irvine moved down one spot to 11th on the second day of action at the New Mexico State University Golf Course.
The Anteaters shot a 302 for the second consecutive day and are in 11th place with a two-round total of 604. Baylor leads the 16-team field with a score of 596 (299-297), while Idaho’s Kayla Mortellaro is the top individual at 140 (70-70).
Freshman Michelle Yang shot a team-best 73 on Tuesday and leads UCI with a score of 147 (74-73) which is good for 16th place. Senior Lalita Patipaksiri is tied for 40th at 153 (73-80), while freshman Sarah Baek (78-76) and sophomore Ronnie Valerio (77-77) is tied for 45th. Sophomore Taryn Yee is tied for 56th with a 36-hole score of 155 (79-76).
The tournament concludes with 18 holes Wednesday.
