NEWPORT BEACH — The Sea Kings set a school record for their lowest team score at Newport Beach Country Club in the nonleague match Wednesday.

CdM’s previous record at its home course was a 178, set last year, Coach Mike Starkweather said.

Senior Chase Wheatley was medalist with a three-under-par 32. Karick Brown (34), Bryan Hong, Walter Frome and Drew Hanson (all 37) also scored for CdM (13-5).

The Sea Kings play host to Beckman in their Pacific Coast League finale Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at NBCC.

ALISO VIEJO — Estancia senior Bill Crosson was medalist as the Eagles clinched at least a share of the Orange Coast League title Wednesday at Aliso Viejo Country Club.

Crosson shot a one-over-par 36 for the Eagles (9-6, 7-1 in league). Aaron Wood (38), Cody Nelson (41), Brad Erhorn (42) and Jake Beth (45) also scored.

Estancia can clinch the outright league title by beating Calvary Chapel on Thursday at 4 p.m. at Mile Square Park, in the final league match. Calvary Chapel would earn a share of the title with a victory.

IRVINE — Troy Bolus won the 110-meter high hurdles (15.1 seconds), the long jump (18 feet, 5 inches) and triple jump (36-103/4), helping the Sea Kings improve to 5-0 in Pacific Coast League dual meets on Wednesday.

CdM’s Matt Hurst won the 200 and 400 in 22.4 and 50.6, respectively.

Teddy Parks and Tanner Love shared first in the 800 (both at 1:59) and Greg May won the 1,600 in 4 minutes, 31.6 seconds.

The Sea Kings compete in the league preliminaries at Irvine High on Tuesday.

GIRLS’ TRACK & FIELD

Beckman 34

IRVINE — The Sea Kings’ Jackie Choe won the 1,600 meters in 5 minutes, 21.9 seconds and the 3,200 in 11:49 in the Pacific Coast League dual meet on Wednesday.

Emma Kratzberg was first in the 100 hurdles (16.4 seconds) and Emily Glenn won the 300 hurdles (48.2).

Jesse Harris won the 200 in 26.6 and Asha Hardy was first in the high jump (5 feet, 2 inches).

The Sea Kings compete in the league preliminaries at Irvine High on Tuesday.
