The Toshiba Classic, which will have its 20th anniversary in 2014, has announced dates for the Champions Tour event.

The tournament will take place March 10-16 at Newport Beach Country Club.

Organizers are hoping for another successful year with regard to competition and charitable contributions.

According to a press release, the 2013 event raised $1,148,500, which primarily goes to the Mary and Dick Allen Diabetes Center at Hoag, but also other Orange Country groups, such as the Toshiba Classic Scholarship Fun, the Discovery Science Center and more.

For the fourth consecutive year the 2014 Toshiba Classic will benefit the Mary and Dick Allen Diabetes Center.

South African David Frost led the way among a talented field as he captured his fourth Champions Tour victory. He finished at 19-under-par 194 to tie Jay Haas’ record for low tournament score, which was set in 2007.

Frost also matched the record for largest winning margin of five shots, which was set by Hale Irwin in 2002.

“During a tournament weekend that had beautiful weather and great competition, we were fortunate to have a nice turnout of golf fans and raise an incredible amount of money for our beneficiaries once again,” said Jeff Purser, executive director of the Toshiba Classic. “We’re looking forward to celebrating our 20th anniversary in 2014 in an even bigger way.”
