Some of Glendale’s local election rules conflict with L.A. County’s rules. Glendale officials have taken the initial steps to change that by introducing an emergency ordinance that will allow the city to defer to the state’s election rules. Time is of the essence because the city must meet the L.A. County’s deadlines in order to hold its election for several City Council seats as intended this March.
