Paul Sussman March 27, 1950-Aug.28, 2012

Paul Sussman died on August 28th, 2012 while snorkeling in Hilo, Hawaii. It was a glorious day as he swam among the colorful fish, manta ray, and coral. His guide said he was like a little child, full of wonder.
Paul was born in the Bronx, New York on March 27, 1950, and moved to Los Angeles in 1975.
Paul was a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York City and the Southern California Institute of Architecture.
He practiced his profession all over southern California and his award winning projects contribute to her landscape. He also served as a Commissioner on the City of Glendale’s Design Review Board and oversaw such prestigious projects as the Americana at Brand. After the Northridge Earthquake, Paul utilized his talents to oversee the rebuilding of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Watts Towers. Soon he worked all over the U. S. as a national authority on historical preservation.
His friends and family remember him for his adventurous nature, superior intellect, generous spirit, and wonderful sense of humor.
He is survived by his sister Carole, brother-in-law Jack Alston, and many loving friends.
