Doris H. Boyer, a long time resident and active member of the Glendale community, died January 17th in her home with her family beside her.

She died of complications of a long fight against a rare bone cancer.

Doris was born in Vancouver, Canada of English parents and immigrated to the United States and
became a citizen in the 1940’s. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Nat Boyer in 2002. A successful realtor Boyer was both President of the Realtor’s Association and Realtor of the Year. Among her many interests were charity organizations, Oakmont League of Glendale where she served as President in 1976. She was also a member of Las Candelas. Boyer was President of the Glendale Community Foundation. She gave time for many years to “Fathers Follies” at Verdugo Woodlands Elementary School. Choreographing and teaching dance to the gentlemen participants. Boyer was a professional entertainer in New York City and it was through her efforts she was able to sponsor her Mother, Father and Sister into the United States. She
was a long time member of Oakmont Country Club and the Jonathan Club.

Doris Boyer leaves two sons. Jon and Brian and a beloved daughter-in-law, Tarryn and many many
close friends.
