Luncheon funds scholarships for Glendale Community College transfer students

Glendale Latino Assn. will have its annual installation and awards luncheon beginning at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 28 at Oakmont Country Club.

Nancy Guillen is taking a second term as president of this 16-year-old organization that raises funds for scholarships for Glendale students of Hispanic heritage who are seniors attending public or private high schools and Glendale and Burbank students transferring to four-year universities from Glendale Community College.

A man, woman and business of the year will be honored at the luncheon. The Man of the Year is Glendale Police Chief Ronald De Pompa. The Business of the Year is Glendale Memorial Hospital, and the Woman of the Year is Robin Goldsworthy of the Crescenta Valley Weekly.
