Mildred “Tody” Rhine August 15, 1917 - March 10, 2013

Mildred “Tody” Rhine passed away on March 10 in Camarillo, California surrounded by the love of
her five children. Born to Knute and Rhoda Rahmn in Highland Park, California, Tody spent much of her youth on Hollywood sets with her father who photographed silent film star, Mary Pickford. In her youth, Tody was an accomplished badminton player, earning the California Doubles Championship. In 1946, Tody married attorney and pilot Bertrand Rhine and moved to Glendale, California where she lived until 1986. Tody and Bertrand raised four sons and a daughter in a welcoming, and joyfully-energized home filled with music, friends and volleyball. With children grown, Bertrand and Tody moved to La Canada where they spent their final years together. Tody was involved in local philanthropy through her work as a lifetime member of National Charity League and her service to Glendale Memorial Hospital. Tody’s warmth, kindness and curiosity about others made her beloved to all. Throughout her life, she delighted in welcoming people
into her home and into her heart.

Tody was predeceased by her parents, two older brothers and her husband. She is survived by sons: Bert III, Michael,Thomas, Robert and daughter Sarah, along with ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Tody’s life will take place at 1 PM on April 13 held at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church in Camarillo, California.
