John Walter Ruck

John Walter Ruck, 74, of Glendale, California passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2013.

Born in Chicago, Illinois on October 5, 1938, John attended St. Eulalia Elementary and Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Illinois. John went on to Quincy University in Quincy, Illinois for his undergraduate degree, and received an MBA on full scholarship from Washington University.

John’s work history began with Deloitte and Touche, and Franciscan China. John spent most of his career in the steel industry, first with Kilsby-Roberts, and closing his career as a partner with Earl
M. Jorgensen Steel.

John coached little league for nine years, and was a member of the Glendale’s Quarterback Club.

A devoted husband and father, John was survived by his wife of 47 years, Anne; daughters Molly Hwang and Katie Holzer; and son Matt Ruck; and sister, Judy Ogan. John dearly loved his grandchildren Elizabeth Hwang, Stephanie Hwang and Jack Holzer.

Rosary and funeral services will be held at St. Dominic’s Church, 2002 Merton Ave., Los Angeles, CA, 90041. The Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 19, 2013.
