Community: Art patrons can aid Brand renovation

The Associates of Brand Library and Art Center is planning an elegant wine and hors d’oeuvres fundraiser that mixes live music, art-viewing and a silent art auction. Proceeds will benefit the restoration and framing of six original ceiling painting fragments recovered at the Brand Library during its renovation.

Titled “Glendale Collects,” this is the kickoff for a series of events held in the private homes of Glendale residents who are passionate collectors of original works by artists. It will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 12.

The organization wants to offer art lovers an opportunity to connect and share their enthusiasm for the arts while supporting the Brand Library, said Arlene Vidor, the group’s president.
