Long-time Glendale resident Frances Vessella, 79, passed away in her home on Sunday, April 27. Fran was born to Joseph and Elizabeth Valenti in Wilkes-Barre, PA. In 1943 her family moved to California and she graduated from Holy Family High School. She married Thomas Vessella in 1957. Both Tom and Fran worked for Glendale schools and were active members of St. Robert Bellarmine parish for 50 years. A woman of many talents, Fran was generous in sharing her gifts with others. She was never happier than when she applied her expert cooking skills, preparing meals for family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Thomas; son Thomas Vessella and wife Sue; daughters Eileen Vessella; Betsy Astor and husband Steve; and Teri Vessella; siblings Michele White, Kathleen Valenti and Joseph Valenti; grandchildren Tom and Dave Vessella, Jeff and Greg Astor, and Cami and Connor Brown.

A Rosary will be held on Sunday, May 4th at 7pm at St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Burbank. Mass will be held on Monday, May 5th at 4 pm, also at St. Robert Bellarmine Church. Donations can be made to St. Vincent Meals on Wheels at www.stvincentmow.org
