The free events will include a koto music performance at 11 a.m., Taiko Drums by Verdugo Elementary School at 1:30 p.m., a Japanese stick fighting demonstration 2:30 p.m.

At the event, sponsored by Friends of Shoseian, there will also be live music, Japanese-language information, Akita rescue dogs, Japanese books for children and three food trucks.
