Bonsais descend on Descanso

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE -- Carefully sculpted trees, shrubs and other

plants will be featured at the Descanso Bonsai Society’s 32nd annual

Bonsai show.

The show, one of the largest of its kind in Southern California, will

be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday to Sunday at Descanso Gardens, 1418

Descanso Drive, La Canada Flintridge.

At the show, experts will explain how to create and care for bonsai.

Demonstrations are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday and

Sunday.

Raw and completed bonsai plants, tools, pots and related items will be

for sale during the show, and a raffle of bonsaiitems will take place at

3 p.m. Sunday.
