Businessman named head of firm
GLENDALE -- Mark Higgins has been named president of Higgins,
Marcus & Lovett, Inc., a Los Angeles-based business valuations and
litigation consulting firm.
The Glendale native graduated from Glendale High School in 1981,
moving on to receive bachelor’s and masters degrees from USC. After
several years of serving in management positions at Security Pacific
Bank and Wells Fargo, Higgins joined Higgins, Marcus & Lovett, Inc.
in 1994.
Higgins, who still lives in Glendale with his wife and two sons,
is the director of the Los Angeles Rotary and is a board member and
treasurer of the Florence Crittendon Center, a 110-year-old nonprofit
organization for young women and children.
Glendale merchant groups to meet
GLENDALE -- The Sparr Heights Business District Assn. and Downtown
Glendale Merchants Assn. will hold meetings this week.
Sparr Heights merchants will meet from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. today to
discuss traffic, parking, beautification and marketing. The group
convenes at Sparr Heights Senior Center, 1613 Glencoe Way. For more

Downtown Glendale merchants will meet Wednesday to discuss the
proposed Town Center project, an October event and Cruise Night. The
meeting begins at 2:30 p.m. at Giggles, 215 N. Brand Blvd.

SCORE to host workshop July 8
DOWNTOWN -- The Service Corps of Retired Executives will host a
workshop July 8 that will offer new business entrepreneurs
information on raising financing.
The workshop, led by Senior SCORE Counselor Bernard Krasnow, will
discuss Small Business Administration and bank loan requirements,
home equity loans, venture capital possibilities, limited
partnerships and other fund-raising possibilities.
The workshop costs $20 at the door and runs from 9:30 to 11:30
a.m. at 300 N. Brand Blvd. For more information, call 552-3206.
