Pools offer summer recreational swimming

The Glendale Parks, Recreation & Community Services Division is

offering a summer aquatics program at Glendale High School and Hoover

High School pools through the month of August.

The two pools are open to the public for recreational swimming at

varying times until Aug. 30. A family swim pass is $50, adults older

than 50 pay $1, adults 18 to 49 pay $2, youths 12 to 17 pay $1, children 5 to 11 pay $.50 and children up to age 4 can swim for free.

Pools at both schools are open for recreational swim from 3:30 to

5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Fridays through Aug. 2. Hours will be from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Monday,

Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and from 3:15 to 5 p.m. Thursdays from

Aug. 3 to Aug. 9.

Hoover High School is at 651 Glenwood Road and Glendale High

School is at 1440 E. Broadway.

Swim lessons are also offered from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 5:15

to 7:10 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday until Aug. 8.

Swim lessons are $20 per child per session or $30 per adult, per

session. Lessons run 25 minutes each day and last two weeks.
