Baseball camp for area’s boys and girls set
California Coast Baseball Academy will be having a week-long
baseball camp for boys and girls at Pasadena’s Marshall High School.
The first of the three camps begin Monday.
The other two start July 29 and Aug. 5., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Local CSA Bronco team keeps on winning
Crescenta Sports Assn.'s Bronco 11- and 12-year-old squad will be
playing in today’s winner’s-bracket final of the Pony Baseball
District Tournament against Walnut at 7:30 p.m. in Rosemead. The
locals advanced by beating Charter Oak, 7-5, over the weekend behind
the pitching of Dustin Emmons and followed that with a 13-2 win
against West Covina, with help from Justin Bell and Drew Elliott on
CV’s Jacobsen to hold clinic for shooters
Crescenta Valley High boys’ basketball Coach Adam Jacobsen will
hold a one-day shooting clinic Saturday at the Crescenta Valley High
His brother Casey, who was selected as the 22nd overall pick in
the 2002 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns, will be the guest speaker.
The clinic, which will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 1 p.m., costs
$50 per person.

Spartan basketball camp starts again
Spartan Basketball Camp, which is open to boys and girls between
the ages of 6 to 14, has three separate week-long sessions to choose
from in the month of July. The camps, which are in their 15th year,
will be held from today through Friday, July 15-19 and July 22-26.
Sessions are from 1:15 to 5 p.m. each day.
Tom Hofman, La Canada High’s boys’ varsity basketball coach, is
the camp’s director. He has compiled a 333-110 career record in 16
years with the Spartans.

MLS to have soccer camp in La Crescenta
Major League Soccer will be having its MLS Camps Summer of Rising
Stars at Dunsmore Park starting in mid-July.
There will be two sessions, with the first running July 15-19 and
the other from Aug. 19-23.
The fee ranges depending on age. For 5- and 6-year-olds, the cost
is $70 per player. For participants ages 7-18, cost is $110.
All campers will receive an MLS gift, a T-shirt and a free
companion ticket to an MLS game.
A free coach’s clinic will also be held for parents and coaches.
