SPEED LIMITS DECREASED

WHAT HAPPENED

The City Council approved decreasing speed limits on Chevy Chase

Drive south of Foothill Boulevard, and on Oak Grove Drive in front of

La Canada High School.

WHAT IT MEANS

The speed limit on Chevy Chase Drive will be lowered from 35 to 30

miles per hour, and on Oak Grove Drive from 40 to 35 mph. Speed

limits take effect March 4. For one month following that date, Los

Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies will give warnings to

motorists caught exceeding the speed limit.

VOTE

The council voted 5-0 to decrease speed limits.

INSPECTION FEES APPROVED

WHAT HAPPENED

The City Council approved enacting a $50 reimbursement fee

requirement for restaurants for inspection of their pollution

discharge elimination systems by the county health department.

WHAT IT MEANS

Restaurants will reimburse the city $50 for inspection of

facilities at time of business license renewal.

VOTE

The council voted 5-0 to enact the reimbursement fee.
