A story and headline in the Thursday edition of the News-Press titled

“Antitrust lawsuit to go to trial,” mischaracterized the remaining

claims of a lawsuit filed by Americana at Brand developer Rick Caruso

against General Growth Properties. The antitrust claim of that

lawsuit was dismissed by the trial court. Claims of unfair business

practices and interference still remain in the lawsuit. Also, whether

the case will go to trial is uncertain. Lawyers representing General

Growth Properties filed a notice of appeal Thursday of the judge’s

decision not to dismiss the remaining claims in the lawsuit. Usually,

filing such an appeal will place the lawsuit, still in a pre-trial

stage, at a legal standstill pending that appeal.
