Foothills resident Warren Dorn announced he would seek a fourth term as supervisor of Los Angeles County’s largest district, which included the Crescenta Valley. Dorn had first been elected to the seat in 1956.

The Outrigger restaurant in Verdugo City held its first ever luau on March 23, 1958. Owner Link Paola said it was such a great success that he would offer a repeat luau in late April of that year.
