Spring spectacular at Lincoln Elementary

After a one-year absence, Lincoln Elementary’s mini-carnival returns today Friday, May 2, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. on the Lincoln playground. This year’s Spring Spectacular will feature a pirate ship ride, fire engine slide, climbing wall, and numerous game booths and activities. Kids can get tickets stamped at various booths and exchange their tickets for prizes at the redemption booth.

Providing entertainment will be Principal Bill Card’s band, and food options will include an In-and-Out Burger truck, Korean barbecue and a bake sale sponsored by Lincoln’s sixth grade class.

This fun-filled event always attracts big crowds, including community members and Lincoln alumni.

Civil War volunteers needed May 9

Volunteers are needed to help in Rosemont Middle School’s Civil War Day event on May 9 on the middle field on the school’s campus.

The annual Civil War Day creates several booths that bring the war between the states to life.

Volunteers are need to chaperon groups of students as they move from station to station. The first shift will be from 7:45 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., the second from 11:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone interested in volunteering, call Dee Reik at dreik@charter.net or (818) 957-1538.

Parent volunteers needed for car wash

Volunteers are needed to help supervise at the Staff Appreciation Car Wash at Rosemont Middle School parking lot.

Donations are also needed for car washing supplies. For those who would like to donate supplies or funds donation boxes are located in the school’s front office.

The event is on May 7 and May 8 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the school’s parking lot at 4725 Rosemont Avenue.
