Share

Early Thursday morning as deputies were investigating a vandalism report at the corner of Rosemont Avenue and Foothill Boulevard they noticed a suspicious vehicle drive by.

According to Sgt. Ray Harley of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station, deputies checked the vehicle’s license plate and found that it had been reported stolen. Patrol units canvassed the area and found the stolen vehicle in the 4300 block of Sunset Avenue.

“The vehicle was parked in the middle of Sunset with its headlights still on and engine running,” Harley said.

Bolt cutters, two small crowbars and gloves were found in the vehicle along with 418 packages of cigarettes of various brands, Harley added.

Initially deputies witnessed two African American men in the vehicle when it was driving on Foothill Boulevard, however when they discovered the car the men were not found.

Detectives are in the process of contacting local businesses to find if any merchants have been burglarized recently. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Todd Sams, Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station, (818) 248-3464.
